Ísafjörður Airport is located in Iceland.  The airport is embedded within a valley and is surrounded by water and mountains, which account for extremely challenging airport operations.  Mountains are in very close proximity to the western end of the runway.  Landing on runway 08 requires an approah from the eastern side, a low 240 degree U-turn, and a very short final.  Takeoff to the east requires a rapid turn to the left after takeoff to avoid the mountains on the right.
